Madetoja: Voices of the Darkenss
Madetoja's Vocal Work by Male Choir SoLa
Concert & Video Production
Project Overview
The distinguished tenor and composer Joonas Vatjus made his debut appearance at the Hailuoto Music Festival, leading the Oulu-based male choir SoLa. The program celebrated cherished Finnish choral traditions, featuring works by composers such as Juho Karvosenoja, Karl Collan, Gustaf Skinnari, Oskar Merikanto, Leevi Madetoja, Selim Palmgren, and Taneli Kuusisto, alongside select pieces by Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, and Francesco Paolo Tosti. Accompanying the choir was a quartet formed by ensemble musicians from the 2022 festival.

My Role & Contributions
As the concert’s executive producer, I ensured its seamless organization and delivery. As technical producer, I captured and produced high-quality audiovisual content for the festival, including what became the eventual publication of Madetoja‘s Voices of the Darkness (Hämärän ääniä).
