Cantors in the House
Palestrina's Latin Church Music by PaReMPi Quartet
Concert & Video Production
Project Overview
The PaReMPi Quartet, a male vocal ensemble formed entirely of cantors, takes its unique name from the initials of its members: Raimo Paaso (1st tenor), Reko Tammi (2nd tenor), Juha Mikkonen (1st bass), and Janne Piipponen (2nd bass). Originating from a shared love of swimming and skiing, their bond has evolved into a creative musical collaboration.
Regularly performing across Finland, the quartet’s repertoire spans diverse musical genres, with a strong focus on sacred music. Their versatility extends beyond vocals, as their concerts often include instrumental performances. At the Hailuoto Music Festival 2023, the quartet enriched their program with accordion, trumpet, and French horn, and even invited the audience to join them in a communal hymn.

My Role & Contributions
In my role as the concert’s executive producer, I oversaw its successful organization and delivery. As the technical producer, I captured high-quality recordings and produced audiovisual content for the festival, showcasing two of the quartet’s standout performances.
The PaReMPi Quartet delivered a stirring rendition of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina‘s celebrated hymn.
The quartet performed the revered hymn O bone Jesu, attributed to both Marc’Antonio Ingegneri and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, bringing a timeless spiritual piece to life with their rich vocal blend.
