Summer Night Impressions
Electric Violin Soundscapes by Sija Lassila
Artistic Direction & Video Production
Project Overview
Summer Night Impressions (Nallikarin aurinko) is a live improvisation solo violin piece by violinist Silja Lassila, recorded in one take. Using an electric violin and a looper, it creates multi-layered, textured soundscapes that capture the tranquility and beauty of the seaside during a summer sunset.
Funded by the Finnish Music Foundation, the project builds on Lassila’s earlier soundscape, Seaside Impressions (Hailuodon hiekkarannat), which premiered as part of the Hailuoto Music Festival 2020 online program.

Nallikari Holiday Village generously provided the breathtaking location at the base of a lighthouse that brought this piece to life.
