Renaissance & Baroque Music Festivals in the Oulu City

Graphic Design, Website, & Printed Products

2014–2015

Project Overview

The Oulu Early Music Association (Oulun Vanha Musiikki) organizes the annual Oulu Early Music Festival every February, along with year-round concerts and activities focused on Baroque and Renaissance music. Its mission is to promote and strengthen the appreciation of early music in Oulu and Northern Finland through concerts and educational events in collaboration with local art institutions, music schools, churches, and cultural organizations.

My Role & Contributions

Since 2009, even before founding my multimedia company, I have been involved with the association, designing their very first websites. The latest version I created was published in 2015. During that period, I also handled all digital and print materials for the Oulu Early Music Festival, including posters, program booklets, concert tickets, and website graphics. I also authored and edited the website’s text content, providing an English language summary of the association’s activities.

Festival Program Booklets

I created the visual style of the program booklets for the Oulu Early Music Festival 2015, while the text contents were mainly presented to me in a finished form, written by the musicians themselves.

Note: While I am no longer involved in the current website or activities, the 2015 website remains an important milestone in my design portfolio.

Additionally, in the association’s early years, I occasionally recorded high-quality audio of their Baroque concerts in venues like Oulu City Hall and Oulu Cathedral, preserving the performances for archival purposes.
