Project Overview
Founded in 2016, a local community karaoke group, Oulunsalo Karaoke Club (Ohdake), is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting karaoke as a hobby for people of all ages. The club organizes karaoke nights, competitions, practice sessions, and workshops to encourage everyone to embrace their inner performer in a supportive and fun environment.

My Role & Contributions
I was commissioned to design the visual identity and website for the group. The website features a scrollable, mobile-optimized one-page format. I also created a simplified backend page for the webmaster to easily update information, including event calendars, sponsorship details, and a photo album. A dedicated webmaster email address was included to make the site a true one-stop solution.
The warm, calm color palette reflects the karaoke club’s cozy meeting location – a wooden and red-brick hall in the former municipal building – and the welcoming atmosphere of the group. Click on the image below to visit their website.
The logo, inspired by the club’s nickname “ohdake” (meaning thistle), visualizes a fluffy pink flower placed inside a microphone capsule, which was implemented as a colorful 3D render.
To complement the website, I organized a photoshoot to capture custom visuals of the club’s activities, which now serve as stock images for the site and its photo album.
The Ohdake website enjoys a relatively high amount of monthly visitors, being amongst the most popular of the local karaoke organizations.
