Project Overview
Composed by internationally acclaimed opera conductor Maurizio Colasanti, Northern Lights is a chamber orchestra piece dedicated to the people of the North. It was premiered in the headline concert at the Hailuoto Music Festival 2017, performed by Oulunsalo Ensemble with Reijo Tunkkari as the concertmaster and the composer himself conducting. The concert also featured another world-premiered work by Colasanti, The Instinct to Save the Intimate.
