Hailuoto Masterclass

Educational Platform in an Exotic Location

Production, Management, & Website

2018

Project Overview

In 2016, our production team at the Hailuoto Music Festival envisioned a platform for visiting artists to share their expertise – and so, Hailuoto Masterclass was born. Coordinated in connection with the festival and run by Oulunsalo Ensemble, the program provides rare educational opportunities.

Although the program initially ran for three consecutive years, occasional masterclasses are still arranged based on demand. In the first Hailuoto Masterclass courses you could, for example, refine your opera singing technique with the world-renowed soprano Susanna Rigacci, plunge into the world of Argentine tango with the Tangueros Polares, or learn the basics of playing the didgeridoo and enjoy its health benefits with Anthonie Bastiaan Baaij.

I encountered Eero Karvonen, the producer of the Hailuoto Music Festival, in 2018 when I was invited to perform a concert in the beautiful Church of Hailuoto. We recorded an interview in a lovely Nordic house and I still remember this moment with great pleasure.

During my stay I had the possibility to spend time with Eero and I was very impressed by his smart and strong personality and kindness. My stay in Hailuoto was amazing thanks to him and the perfect organization of the Festival!

My Role & Contributions

I developed the visual identity and website for Hailuoto Masterclass and continue to serve as its executive producer, ensuring the website remains up-to-date and accurate in collaboration with our instructors. Visit the website by clicking the image below.
