Helene

Instrumental Composition by Päivi Heikura

Full Production & Sheet Music for a Digital Music Release

2024

Project Overview

Inspired by a biographical film about the life of renowned Finnish modernist painter Helene Schjerfbeck, singer-songwriter Päivi Heikura made her debut as a composer of instrumental music. The evocative solo violin part, capturing the bittersweet longing for a passionate yet unattainable love, was performed by French violin virtuoso François Pineau-Benois.

Services Involved

My Role & Contributions

Initially, I was commissioned to arrange and create a virtual orchestration demo of the piece. The project, however, evolved into a fully realized hybrid production, where I delivered a polished recording featuring a live soloist, resulting in an official single release. I also designed the cover art for the release.

Helene is available for streaming on all major digital platforms.

Sheet Music

Additionally, I prepared the score and individual parts, which are available for purchase for any group desiring to add the piece to their repertoire.
